Egg Fried Rice

Egg-fried rice is a simple and delicious dish that is enjoyed by people all over the world. It is made by simply stir-frying cooked rice with eggs and a variety of vegetables, meats, and seasonings. The dish can be easily customized to suit individual tastes, making it a popular choice for both home cooks and professional chefs.

To make egg fried rice, you will need the following ingredients:

-Cooked Rice
-Eggs
-Vegetables (such as peas, carrots, and bell peppers)
-Meat (such as chicken, pork, or shrimp)
-Soy sauce
-Sesame oil
-Salt and pepper

The first step in making egg-fried rice is to cook the rice. Long-grain rice is the most commonly used for this dish, but you can also use short-grain or jasmine rice. The rice should be cooked according to package instructions, and then cooled to room temperature.

Next, heat a wok or a large skillet (called Kadai in India) over high heat. Add a small amount of oil, and then beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Once the oil is hot, add the beaten eggs and scramble them until they are cooked through. Remove the eggs from the pan and set them aside.

In the same pan, add a little more oil and stir-fry the vegetables until they are tender. You can use any vegetables that you prefer, but common choices include peas, carrots, and bell peppers. Once the vegetables are cooked, add the meat and stir-fry until it is cooked through. Common meats used in egg-fried rice include chicken, pork, and shrimp.

Finally, add the cooked rice to the pan and stir-fry until it is heated through. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper, and stir-fry until the rice is evenly coated. Add the scrambled eggs back into the pan and stir-fry for a few more minutes.

Serve the egg-fried rice hot, garnished with chopped green onions or cilantro if desired.

Egg-fried rice is a versatile dish that can be enjoyed on its own or as a side dish. It can also be the base for many variations such as adding in different vegetables, meats, or seafood. Many people also enjoy adding other seasonings and sauces such as oyster sauce, hot sauce, or curry powder.

Egg-fried rice is a great way to use up leftovers. Cooked rice can be kept in the fridge for up to three days and can be easily transformed into a delicious meal. Additionally, it can also be a great option for those who are trying to eat a balanced diet, as it is low in calories and high in protein.
